How I built an alcohol-free life and help women build theirs.
For years, I looked like someone who had wellness figured out.
48 years old. British-born, a mum, entrepreneur, nan, and a woman with a lifelong love of health and wellbeing. I cared about what I ate. What I put on my skin, daily movement, meditation, mindset, helping others, and living well.
But alcohol was the one piece I couldn't manage.
It did not fit the woman I truly was or wanted to be. It did not match the values and priorities I lived by or even spoke about. And yet, for a long time, I kept trying to make it belong. To give it up, was really not an option. Then what?
Then in 2021, everything changed. One disastrous 4th of July party became the wake-up call I couldn't ignore anymore. It was painful. I was like "WTF are you"? as I looked in the mirror, blacked out with parts of the night, argued with my family and ended up spending the night in the guest room. It was the beginning of my alcohol-free journey.

The wake-up call was only the beginning
At first, my family felt disappointed and confused. They loved and respected, but couldn't understand how could alcohol change someone they loved. The dazed, checked out look in my eyes, the slurred speech at times, the denial of thinking no-one knew how much I had drank. Mind you. I was also one of those people that could have a glass of wine and be ok too. Gray area drinking.
This was all hard to face.
I wanted to step into a new reality without alcohol, but I also felt grief and alot of fear of the unknown. I was mourning something I thought I had to give up forever. Alcohol had been part of my life since 15. A go to, when life was stressful, my 'wingman' at celebrations, birthdays, a way to vacation, connection in my friendships, date nights, sex with abandonment, business networking, and my identity as being 'fun' for some of the girls nights out.
I knew how I was with hard things. I had to go all in.
I signed up for daily hypnosis tapes which I listened to daily, as I went to sleep, subliminal ones at my desk and for the times the cravings kicked in. I read quit lit. Listened to podcasts. I followed people online that made sober, alcohol-free living feel possible and relatable. I built new rituals. I made friends in the community who understood. I attended events focused around mindful living or alcohol free tastings.
But, it wasn't enough.
I was still drinking in secret. Hiding alcohol in my closet. Still straddling two lives. Trying to be the healthy, present, intentional woman I knew I was while hiding the part of me that was not yet free.
Exhausting.
I had to stop treating alcohol as a habit, and being a drinker who was giving up alcohol. To start living in the identity as a non-drinker who could get there
Something shifted when I stopped asking, “How do I stop drinking?” and started asking, “Who am I becoming?”, "Who do I need to be"? "How do I need to show up and need to do each day"?
That changed everything.
The work of James Clear helped me see the power of identity. The powerful work of Joe Dispenza helped me think differently about energy, emotion, and the version of myself I was rehearsing each day.
I began to understand that I couldn't keep dragging my old self into a new life and expect peace.
So I got really clear on my WHY.
My why was not about restriction. It was about freedom. It was about being fully present with my husband, my children, and my friends. Performing to my potential in business with focus and leveled up confidence. It was reclaiming self respect and empowerment within me. It was about my mental and optimal physical health, inner calm, fulfillment and purpose.
I stopped focusing on what I was losing and began building proof of who I was becoming.
That looked like:
Waking up with a clear head every day.
Keeping promises to myself and those I loved.
Getting sh** done with no lost time spent in bed.
Creating consistent daily rituals that supported me instead of numbed me
Telling the truth about where I was at in my journey, even when it felt uncomfortable
Letting my family see the real change, not just hear about it
Doing new uncomfortable things that seemed foreign and too 'out there', 'wu-wu' to me. (the irony, now I live by them).
Slowly, the secret drinking stopped. The shame and guilt loosened. Who I truly was came back.

Not everyone understood why it had to be all or nothing
Some friends struggled with my choice. They could not understand why moderation wasn't an option. They had not seen the private pain I had experienced. Some obviously felt uncomfortable around me, me being the only one that did not drink in a group at their gatherings. Frankly, as a drinker, my first choice was not to hang out with non drinkers.
I had tried moderation. It was also exhausting. It was negotiating against myself, keeping track, counting the days to the weekend, beating myself up when I 'failed' and drank. I felt like checking out. Not fully present and checked into the beautiful, full life and treasured people in it, I was blessed to have.
I learned over time, that everyone's path does not look the same. I believe people deserve spaces where they can explore alcohol-free living without shame, labels, or pressure.
AA rooms save lives for many people, and I respect that deeply. They just never felt like mine.
I wanted something different. An aspirational place where someone could be curious, committed, nervous, sober, sober-curious, newly alcohol-free, or years into the journey. A place where age did not matter. A place where mindful living, wellbeing, connection, and identity could sit together.
That is why I created Pure Clarity. Mindful Drinking, Mindful Living. (Trademarked in 2025)
Pure Clarity became the space I once needed
Pure Clarity began with a simple mission. I wanted people to experience alcohol-free living on their own terms.
As a fuller, clearer, more intentional way to live.
In January, 2024, I held my first event in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. Despite the heavy rain fall, there were 150 beautiful people, along with incredible speakers and thought leaders, alcohol free brands, panels, with wellness and health modalities that supported my own healing.
It felt like everything had come full circle.
The tools I had reached for privately were now in one place and being shared openly. The conversations that had once felt lonely were really happening out loud. People were learning, connecting, being inspired and seeing what was possible. Community was being built.
That day confirmed something I already knew inside. My story was never meant to stop with me. My purpose was to inspire and impact others.

Coaching grew from lived experience and deeper training
Before I ever began formal coaching, I had already helped many people through my story. Women and men would reach out quietly who were worried about their drinking or alcohol stopped being fun. A ex-boyfriend, a girl in my friend group. who were drinking on daily dog walks, an other succumbing to the male pressure to drink with the guys regularly, one woman was a mental health profession but alcohol was weighing heavy in her life, and another that had publicly embarrassed herself. Driven, beautiful people with careers, families and full lives, yet alcohol was taking from them. With no solution in sight.
I understood that.
In 2024, I began my coaching certification because I wanted my impact to go further. Lived experience matters, but I also wanted strong skills, structure, and more credibility behind my work. I never knew about a coach when I was on my journey. I wish I had.
Today, I coach women typically in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and even in their 70s through the same journey. With more personalized support, a strong path, with neuro-science based sessions, empowerment, rewiring/reconditioning and discovering pure clarity.
The work is not only about removing alcohol. It is about loosing the desire for alcohol and finally building a life that no longer needs it.
Together, we focus on:
Loosing the desire for alcohol.
A new identity that feels strong and honest
A purpose led life with deeper meaning and fulfillment
Better relationships through presence and trust
Daily rituals and wellbeing practices that support the body and mind
Feeling and looking your best from the inside out
(This content is informational only and is not medical advice. Anyone who may be physically dependent on alcohol should speak with a qualified health professional before stopping, as withdrawal can be serious)
The greatest proof is the peace in my own home
There isn't a moment that passes where my husband and children do not tell me how proud and inspired they are. In fact, my husband gave up drinking a year after I did. (that is another story).
That means more to me than any event, certification or milestone.
Plus, I am beaming and sometimes quite emotional when I see my clients do the courageous work in our coaching container and they share how excited they are to be without alcohol and the profound effect it has on their lives.
I am free now. I have no desire for alcohol.
I am intentional. I am grounded. I have purpose and inner peace. I am fully present with the people I love in a way I could not access before.
I did not just stop drinking. I rebuilt my relationship and identity within myself.

Reclaiming a life starts with one honest decision
An alcohol free life is not boring! Mine is fuller than it has ever been.
